IAS Saumya Sharma cracked UPSC in 1st attempt without coaching by preparing only for 4 months

Today, we bring to you the inspiring story of IAS Saumya Sharma who cracked the UPSC Civil Services Exam in her first attempt in 2018 and secure an All India Rank 9. Saumya is a resident of Delhi and a lawyer by training. She cracked the toughest exam with just four months of preparation.

Motivational Story

IAS Saumya Sharma lost her hearing abilities at the age of 16 but did not give up on her dream. After schooling, IAS Sharma, got into the National Law School to pursue law and decided to appear for the UPSC exam in 2017. Saumya worked very hard and succeeded in the exam without any coaching in her first attempt.

She was 23 when she aced the civil services exam in the year 2017 and went on to become IAS officer with no coaching. Saumya was suffering from viral fever on the day of the exam and both her parents were there at the centre to check up on her health.

Before studying for UPSC, she completed her LLB from National Law University of Delhi. She started preparing for UPSC in 2017. In the same year she appeared for the prelims exam and filled the form under general category not under handicapped quota.
